Podcast – https://archive.org/details/RagRadio2012-08-10-BruceMeltonRogerBaker
Rag Blog writers Bruce Melton and Roger Baker discuss developments in climate science, including the current record-setting heat wave and drought, in the context of increasing global warming caused by man-made climate change. And they talk about the potential confluence of global crises — including climate change, peak oil, population growth, and the widespread destruction of ecosystems — that could lead to major global disasters including famine and hunger wars.
Bruce and Roger are Austin-based activists and writers and regular contributors to The Rag Blog and Rag Radio. Bruce Melton is a professional engineer, environmental researcher, filmmaker, author, and musician. His new book is Climate Discovery Chronicles, and his blues/rock/folk band is Climate Change. Roger Baker is a longtime transportation-oriented environmental activist, an energy-oriented economist, an amateur scientist and science writer, and a founding member of and an advisor to the Association for the Study of Peak Oil-USA. He is a director of the Save Our Springs Association and the Save Barton Creek Association in Austin.
