Happy Texas Independence Day: the Dutch say 55 to 110 cm of sea level rise by 2100

By March 2, 2009February 28th, 2013Sea Level Rise

This is 21 to 43 inches and it does not include dynamical ice sheet disintegration. Very important to note also in the Dutch study, sea level rise in the 22nd century will be 1.5 to 3.5 meters – that’s 11.5 feet.  Most of the worlds major cities  will be affected by eleven feet of sea level rise. The US Geological Survey says that nearly one-half of the 6.7 billion people around the world live near the coast and are highly vulnerable to storms and sea-level rise. See here.
